Void Knight

A warrior soul which is an adept, anti-magic tank.

The Void Knight is a defensive specialist who has trained in eldritch techniques to fight those who wield magic. Spells that would bring another warrior low are shaken off by a Void Knight, reflected back at the caster, or stored in magical pacts they an unleash with devastating effect.

Strengths

The void knight gets a spell resistance buff, and a number of abilities which allow them to reflect back spells and slow down or interfere with spell casting, making them effective tanks against magic wielders. They also have the ability to discharge their pacts in a relatively large spike of damage.

Weaknesses

While the Void Knight’s damage output is fairly strong for a tank class, it is dependent on the ability to build up pacts, which can be quite slow when fighting mobs that do not have mana or use spells. Void Knights also do not get as many enhancements to their defensive attributes as other tank classes, making them less durable than other tanks when facing physical damage dealers.

Name Description
Pain Tolerance Increases Endurance by 1/2/3/4/5%.
Insatiable Hunger When you hit a target that uses Mana with a melee attack, you gain a 5/10/15/20/25% chance of draining the target 1% Mana to gain a Pact.
Rift Tap The next spell that hits the Warrior deals damage back to the caster. Generates additional threat. Lasts 30 seconds:
1 Point: 25 Air damage.
2 Points: 43 damage.
3 Points: 62 Air damage.
Surge Increases damage of Discharge, Unstable Reaction and Tempest by 2/4/6/8/10%.
Ravenous Strength Increases Strength by 1/2/3% per application when a Pact is gained. Can be applied up to 10 times, lasts 6 seconds.
Spell Sunder Drain the beneficial magical energy from an enemy, removing 3 positive spell effects. Adds 2 Pacts per effect drained.
Improved Pain Tolerance Stacks with Pain Tolerance to increase Endurance an additional 2/4/6/8/10%.

Efficient Conversion Abilities that unleash Pacts cost 5/10/15 less Power.
Spellbreaker Drains the negative magical energy from an ally, removing 3 negative spell effects. Adds 2 Pacts per effect drained.
Energy Retention Pact duration is increased by 5/10/15 seconds.
Ravenous Defense Increases Armor by 1/2/3% per application when a Pact is gained. Can be applied up to 10 times, lasts 6 seconds.

Rift Summon Planes Shift the selected enemy to the Warrior. The disorientation roots the target for 1.5 seconds. Generates additional threat. This ability grants 1 Attack Point.
Residual Absorption You become immune to negative magical effects for 3/6 seconds after casting Spellbreaker.

Devourer Increases the spell damage reduction of Void ability by 3/6/9/12/15%.
Power Leech Increases number of Pacts gained through Devouring Blow, Spell Sunder, Spellbreaker, and Soul Pillage by 1.
Improved Rift Summon Reduces cooldown on Rift Summon by 10/20 seconds.

Rift Shield Unleash all Pacts to shield an ally from the next 308 Spell damage per Pact unleashed, for 30 seconds.
Replenish Heal 2/4/6% of your Endurance when a Pact is gained.

Power Sink

Tear a rift in space that absorbs the Mana of nearby enemies for 12 seconds. Affected targets lose 95 Mana every second and are snared for 50% movement speed. Every time the Power Sink drains Mana from a target it adds 1 Pact to the Warrior.

Root Advancement

Name Description
Void Thrive on the primal powers of magic, absorbing them as they come in contact. 5% of magical damage is absorbed and converted into Pacts. Lasts 1 hour.
Reckless Strike Deal Weapon plus 7 to 8 Physical damage. Each active Pact increases Reckless Strike damage by 4%. Generates additional threat. This ability grants 1 Attack Point.
Devouring Blow Ravenously attack for weapon plus Physical damage, in addition to dealing 50% of the damage done as Mana, and generating Pacts if the target has Mana. Generates additional threat:
1 Point: 100% of weapon plus 11 damage, adds 1 Pact.
2 Points: 120% of weapon plus 19 damage, adds 2 Pacts.
3 Points: 140% of weapon plus 27 damage, adds 3 Pacts.
Discharge The Warrior unleashes all of their Pacts, dealing 8 Air damage per Pact to one target. Generates additional threat. This ability grants 1 Attack Point.
Pact Conversion Gather in rage and power, converting the energy into Pacts. This ability is not affected by the global cooldown:
1 Point: Add 2 Pacts.
2 Points: Add 4 Pacts.
3 Points: Add 6 Pacts.
Furious Rage Convert the energy of a spell into raw physical force, hitting the target for 120% of weapon plus 17 to 19 Physical damage. Must be used within 6 seconds of being hit by a damaging spell. This ability is not affected by the global cooldown. This Ability grants 1 Attack Point.
Spark A painful flare of 18 to 20 Air Damage causes the selected enemy to attack the Warrior for 3 seconds. This ability grants 1 Attack Point.
Disrupt Disrupts the magical energy of a single enemy, increasing casting times by 20% for 10 seconds.
Airburst Quickly release a burst of pent up energy to deal 15 to 18 Air damage to all nearby enemies. Affected enemies are forced to attack the Warrior for 3 seconds.
Ragestorm The Warrior attacks all nearby enemies, dealing weapon plus 30 Physical damage, in addition to 4 Air damage per Pact. Generates additional threat. This ability grants 1 Attack Point.
Soul Pillage Siphon off 244 of an enemy’s mana, convert this energy into 2 Pacts.
Empower Unleash all Pacts, increasing the damage of the next ability by 15% per Pact unleashed for 15 seconds.
Catalyze Ignite an enemy’s Mana, using it to cause Fire damage:
1 Point: Burns 169 Mana, deals 71 damage, adds 1 Pact.
2 Points: Burns 337 Mana, deals 124 damage, adds 2 Pacts.
3 Points: Burns 506 Mana, deals 178 damage, adds 3 Pacts.
Fusion of Flesh Unleashes all Pacts, healing 30 per Pacts unleashed.
Unstable Reaction Focus a torrent of unstable energy into the target, burning 120 Mana and dealing 408 Air damage over the next 6 seconds, in addition to being silenced for 6 seconds. Gain 1 Pact each second this ability is active. This ability grants 1 Attack Point.
Shock Burst Inflicts silence on all nearby targets:
1 Point: 3 seconds.
2 Points: 5 seconds.
3 Points: 8 seconds.
Tempest Unleash all Pacts, dealing 23 Air damage per Pact unleashed to all enemies within 7 meters. Generates additional threat. This ability grants 1 Attack Point.

Gameplay

The void knight has various abilities which allow them to build pacts, up to a maximum of ten. These pacts can then be discharged through a variety of techniques, including a large spike of air damage. This adds a second combo-point like mechanic, in addition to the standard warrior attack point system.
